A small perennial herb to about 50 cm which has closely-spaced, oblanceolate, grey, woolly leaves which are smaller towards the top of the stem. Several simple, or sparsely forked, stems arise from a woody rootstock.
- Notes: Discoid heads in corymbose clusters. The involucral bracts have radiating tips and equal or exceed the flowers.
