NOTES

A flat, pear-shaped shell often encrusted with coralline algae. Juveniles live on the shells of adults. Lives in dense colonies low on exposed shores. A slow-growing, territorial, gardening limpet which fertilises its garden with its own nitrogenous excretions. Grows to about 60 mm and may live for 25 years.
