A shell to 35 mm which is wider than high and has a large aperture. The body whorl is inflated, has a shallow notch in the margin of the outer lip and the columella is twisted. A pelagic species which hangs upside down from a raft of mucus-coated bubbles. Feeds on jellyfish, crustaceans and zooplankton. The eggs are kept in the body until they hatch.
