An elongate shell to 50 mm with a high spire, granular ridges and a deep depression below the suture. The siphonal canal is short and open and the anal canal is distinct. The outer lip is finely ridged inside and the columella is smooth with a weak parietal nodule. A scavenger from extreme low-tide levels down to 30 m.
