NOTES

An oblique shell to 35 mm with inflated spherical valves which gape at the anterior and posterior ends. The interior has thin radial ribs crossed by concentric lines. Lives from low-tide level down to 40 m among kelp holdfasts or tunicates. A filter feeder which swims by clapping the valves together.
