NOTES

A large orbicular shell to 80 mm with one inflated valve and one flat valve; both with ears. The inflated shell has 12-15 wide ribs while the ribs on the flat valve are higher and narrower. Lives on clean or muddy sand at depths of 70-80 m where it filters food particles from the water. Swims by clapping the valves together.
