NOTES

A smallish lark to about 15 cm which generally occurs singly or in pairs. It prefers rocky slopes and low vegetation. During the breeding season the male rises sharply in the air clapping his wings and then plunges down whistling. Eats seeds and insects. Builds a thin nest of grass at the base of a plant.
