NOTES

A small crab with a square carapace about 40mm across. It has a characteristic furry lining round the hinge of the nippers. It lives in burrows on mudbanks. It feeds by sucking organic matter off mud particles and by scavenging. During March 2015 there were large numbers of dead ones on the island.
