NOTES

A large, heavy shell to 70 mm with a raised spire. The whorls are shouldered and the shoulder slope is concave. There are 4 rows of large blunt tubercles. The outer lip has small teeth and the columella is smooth. Lives under rocks in low neap-tide pools and in crevices and gullys. Preys on gastropods and ascidians.
