A harmful algal bloom forming a scum on the surface of the water particularly over Zostera beds. This bllom is probably formed by a mixture of cyanobacteria, diatoms, dinoflagellates and ciliates.Such blooms usually occur in response to high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus in the water and are a sign of pollution. Blooms were seen in October 2010 and December 2016. The blooms are moved by the wind and tides.
