NOTES

Occurs in pairs or flocks. A large bird about 105 cm long. Eats small reptiles, grain, fish and locusts. Eggs are laid in November-February on bare ground or in a nest made with a few small stones. In December 2014 a pair laid two eggs on the banks of the Geelhout River and both chicks hatched successfully.
