A very common resident bird which is seldom seen due to its cryptic colouration and tendency to keep very still. Length 20 cm, weight 35 g. Eats fruit, berries and insects. The nest is a thin basin of twigs in a slender tree, often at the edge of a clearing. Breeds October to January.
