NOTES

A very common resident bird which grows to 23 cm and weighs 50 g. Usually seen singly perched on top of a bush or tree. It is an aggressive species. Eats a wide variety of food including insects, lizards, small snakes, frogs and birds. Often impales its prey on thorns or barbed wire fences. The nest is placed in the fork of a well foliaged bush or tree. Breeds July to January.
